Manila, June 11 -- The National Housing Authority (NHA) said Thursday it has implemented an automatic one-month housing amortization moratorium for all its beneficiaries in Mindanao to provide financial relief following the recent powerful earthquake.

"Nagpatupad na po ako ng moratorium sa buong Mindanao po, hindi na po magbabayad ng amortization payment, in this payment ang aming mga beneficiaries sa Mindanao for the month of June (I have implemented a moratorium across Mindanao. Our beneficiaries in Mindanao will not make amortization payments for the month of June)," NHA General Manager Joeben Tai said during a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview.

The agency is still assessing if the moratorium could be extended.
