Manila, July 15 -- Newly appointed Health Secretary Jose Pujalte Jr. will temporarily decline media interviews as he focuses on ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

In a statement Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) asked for the public's understanding, saying Pujalte and the department's leadership team will spend the next two weeks overseeing the transition.

During the period, Pujalte will meet with key officials and review priority programs to prepare the department for the efficient delivery of healthcare services.
