DUMAGUETE CITY, June 16 -- The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) is strengthening collaboration with other law enforcement agencies through the "SAFE NIR" flagship initiative of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region.

NOrPPO spokesperson Capt. Stephen Jaynard Polinar said during an online press conference Tuesday that the program, anchored on the Dial 911 emergency hotline, "will ensure swift police response and community visibility."

"SAFE" stands for Seen, Appreciated, Felt and Extraordinary police service.

Polinar said the "SAFE" initiative "not only covers anti-criminality or efficient public service but effective emergency response across the province at any given time."
