NegOr PNP, DepEd team up to curb violent, malicious school posts
Manila, Aug. 20 -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) Cyber Crime Unit in Negros Oriental is coordinating with the Department of Education (DepEd) to prevent the spread of malicious and harmful social media posts, particularly those promoting violence, in schools.
Lt. Gaudioso Morte, chief of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group in the province, said he met Thursday with officials of the Negros Oriental High School (NOHS) and the DepEd Negros Oriental Division following separate threats posted on social media involving at least three schools.
The schools reportedly targeted this week were the Negros Oriental State University-Bais Campus, Bais National High School, and NOHS in Dumaguete City.
