Manila, Oct. 26 -- The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has directed its units to strengthen bomb threat awareness campaigns in Metro Manila schools, emphasizing coordinated responses, prompt threat assessment and proper emergency procedures to protect students and school personnel.

The directive followed a bomb threat reported on October 23 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) St. Martin de Porres Building in Manila. A letter containing the threat was found inside a cubicle in the women's restroom, disrupting classes. As a precaution, the university shifted to remote arrangements the following day.
