Manila, Aug. 26 -- Malacanang on Wednesday said the national government will continue monitoring the utilization of the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) to ensure that assistance provided to local government units (LGUs) is properly used.

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the proposed LGSF allocation for 2027 is PHP58.53 billion, about 1.14 percent higher than the PHP57.87 billion allocation for 2026.

She said the increase would provide LGUs with additional resources for infrastructure and social development projects, including farm-to-market roads, water systems, health facilities, bridges, disaster-resilient communities, and assistance to marginalized groups.
