NAPC, CDA meet with Cordillera veggie farmers to curb crop dumping
Manila, Aug. 31 -- The National Anti-Poverty Commission-Cooperatives Sectoral Council (NAPC-CSC) said it gathered vegetable farmers in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on Monday for a consultation on crop yield and risk assessment together with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA).
The initiative resulted from an agreement reached during the Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting on the Food Conservation Program (FCP) last July 16.
It aimed to collect critical, first-hand data on the root causes of vegetable dumping, a persistent problem causing heavy financial losses to local farmers in the region.
