TACLOBAN CITY, July 28 -- Northern Samar 2nd District Rep. Edwin Ongchuan welcomed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s call for the immediate amendment of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, particularly the proposal to stop passing system loss charges on to electricity consumers.

Ongchuan, vice chairperson of the House Committee on Energy, said it is time to revisit Republic Act 9136, or the EPIRA law, to ensure it responds to the needs of Filipinos.

"It is about time to revisit the EPIRA Law so that it can be aligned with the needs of the people today. As the representative of the 2nd District of Northern Samar, I will support the amendment to the EPIRA Law," Ongchuan said.
