Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) Regulatory Office (RO) on Friday confirmed the approval of rate hikes for water concessionaires Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad) and Manila Water Company Inc. (Manila Water), effective in October.

The MWSS Board of Trustees approved the MWSS RO's recommendation to implement the Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, effective Oct. 1, MWSS RO Chief Regulator Patrick Lester Ty said in a statement.

Residential customers of both water concessionaires will see rate adjustments next month based on the approved guidelines of MWSS, following careful validation of their proposed FCDAs.
