Manila, April 24 -- A total of 4,411 tricycle drivers received cash relief assistance worth PHP5,000 each on Friday.

Of the total number, 1,345 are from Calasiao, 581 in Alcala, 540 in Bautista, 174 in Santo Tomas, 218 in Natividad, 167 in San Nicolas, 390 in San Quintin, 330 in Santa Maria, and 666 in Tayug.

Brando Joves, 46, of Calasiao town, said he used to earn over PHP500 daily but due to the fuel price hike, he now only takes home a measly PHP200 to PHP300.

"Salamat po kay Pangulong BBM (Ferdinand Marcos Jr.) sa ayuda mula sa Department of Social Welfare and Development. Malaking tulong po ito (Thank you, Mr. President for the assistance from DSWD)," he said in an interview.
