Manila, Aug. 12 -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is seeking an investigation into the spread of fabricated flood photos and videos online, including AI (artificial intelligence)-generated images falsely depicting flooded and garbage-strewn streets.

In a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview Wednesday, MMDA general manager Undersecretary Nicolas Torre III said the agency is coordinating with the Philippine National Police, Department of Information and Communications Technology and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center on the matter.
