Manila, May 18 -- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has expressed full support for the proposed bill extending the validity of Professional Identification Cards (PICs) from three to five years, citing convenience for millions of Filipino professionals and streamlining government services.

In a Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon interview on Monday, PRC Assistant Commissioner Lord Louis Valera said the PRC initiated House Bill (HB) 8876, which has already hurdled second reading at the House of Representatives.

"Well, si PRC excited of course kasi panukala namin ito, initiative namin ito (Well, the PRC is excited of course because this is our proposal, our initiative)," Valera said.
