Manila, Aug. 14 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday said he will endorse the "best" candidate in the 2028 presidential race who can continue his administration's legacy.

"I will certainly endorse a candidate in the 2028 elections," he said during the presidential luncheon hosted by the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines at Diamond Hotel Philippines in Manila.

"We will choose the best possible candidate who will continue what we have started, and who will bring even new and hopefully even better initiatives to the development of our country."

Marcos, however, said it is still too early to identify the possible standard-bearer of his political party, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).
