Manila, Aug. 17 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remains open to talking with anyone, including those who disagree with him, Malacanang said Monday amid chatter on social media that Vice President Sara Duterte was seeking a private meeting with him.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Malacanang could not confirm reports that Duterte had requested a meeting with Marcos.

"Sa ngayon ay wala tayong makukumpirma (As of now, we can't confirm anything relating to that)," Castro said during a Palace briefing.

Asked whether Marcos would grant such a request if made, Castro said the President has previously expressed his openness to dialogue with anyone, regardless of political differences.
