Marcos: PH expands digital literacy, cybersecurity efforts
Manila, Aug. 14 -- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Friday the government is expanding digital literacy programs and strengthening cybersecurity efforts to protect Filipinos, particularly children and young people, from harmful online content and disinformation.
During a presidential luncheon hosted by the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines at the Diamond Hotel Philippines in Manila, Marcos said technology has become an integral part of daily life, exposing young people to distorted information while their critical judgment is still developing.
"Innovation must continue, certainly, but so must responsibility that accompanies it," he said.
