Manila, Aug. 26 -- Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso on Wednesday assured the public that the local government has sufficient stocks of free antibiotics to treat leptospirosis as cases continue to rise.

In the program #TalkToThePeople, the local chief executive reported that the city's supply of doxycycline capsules has reached 389,000, up from 51,000 capsules on Aug. 24. The increase is due to a donation of 40,000 capsules from the private sector and 300,000 capsules from the Department of Health (DOH).

"To the residents of Manila-whether poor, middle class, or wealthy-we have these 389,000 doxycycline capsules available, and you can access them," Domagoso added.
