LTFRB nabs 226 dilapidated taxis, buses in 2-month crackdown
Manila, Aug. 5 -- The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has apprehended 226 dilapidated and untidy taxis and passenger buses in an enforcement campaign in Metro Manila and nearby areas in June and July.
In a statement, LTFRB chair Vigor Mendoza II said the operations reflect the agency's commitment to providing Filipino commuters with decent, reliable, and comfortable public transportation.
"There must be no excuses for dilapidated, untidy, and stinking public transportation units. That is clear and simple, and that is based on the rules and regulations that PUV operators are fully aware of when they sought for the authority to operate," Mendoza said.
