Ledama eyes title victory at Siquijor Governor's Cup tennis
Manila, Sept. 14 -- Former University of Santo Tomas standout Nilo Ledama is eyeing a title victory in the inaugural Governor's Cup Open starting on Tuesday at the Capitol tennis courts in Siquijor.
He is seeded No. 2 behind John Benedict Aguilar, the reigning MVP from University of the East, in the 32-player men's draw offering PHP50,000 in cash to the champion.
"I feel that I have a good chance to reach the finals, and hopefully, win the title," the 24-year-old fitness and sports management graduate said in an interview Monday.
Ledama, who was named rookie MVP (Season 85) and MVP (Seasons 86 and 87) in the UAAP, reached the semifinals at the 2025 PCA Open. He placed third at the Philta Masters Top 8 event last February.
