Japan extends satellite support to PH quake response
Manila, June 16 -- Japan is extending continuous support to the Philippines' post-earthquake response through the provision of satellite imagery, the Japanese Embassy in Manila said Tuesday.
A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Maasim, Sarangani on June 8, killing 65 and causing massive damage to properties in the province and nearby areas.
Since June 9, the Japanese Embassy said the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been providing emergency observation and satellite images of the situation in southern Mindanao.
"Japan will continue to work closely with the Philippines to support its early recovery from the damages caused by the earthquake," it said.
