Manila, March 16 -- Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso on Monday offered PHP500,000 in exchange for the voluntary surrender of the driver of the riding-in-tandem who shot dead his former security escort and retired police officer George Capistrano on Sunday in Manila.

In a social media post, the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) said Domagoso has given the motorcycle driver 48 hours to surrender.

He offered the suspect a possible inclusion to the Witness Protection Program if he can point out the hitman and the larger group behind the attack.

According to the mayor, the victim was riding a motorcycle on his way home when unidentified gunmen shot him in front of his residence shortly after midnight in Tondo.
