Irish national in viral tow truck incident faces deportation
Manila, July 15 -- The Bureau of Immigration (BI) nabbed a 64-year-old Irish national who went viral on social media after he was caught on video attacking a government-contracted tow truck and members of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) during an operation involving his illegally parked vehicle.
In a statement Wednesday, the bureau reported Michael Patrick Oreilly is now under its custody pending deportation proceedings.
BI intelligence operatives arrested the foreigner at Camp Karingal in Quezon City on July 13, after authorities found him to be violating the conditions of his stay in the Philippines and determined him to be an undesirable foreign national.
