Manila, March 31 -- Workers affected by high prices of petroleum products due to the tensions in the Middle East may avail of the Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
DOLE spokesperson Lennard Serrano said under the program, beneficiaries are given livelihood or provided capital to start their own businesses.
"What we provide to our beneficiaries is livelihood, something hopefully that could be sustainable, something that is in line with the community and in line with their preference or ability," he said in a televised public forum on Tuesday.
"The samples of livelihood that we provide are your Nego-Karts and fishing, in our agriculture sector."
