Manila, Sept. 16 -- The Senate impeachment court on Wednesday put its stricter sub judice policy to its first announced enforcement test, issuing show-cause orders to certain members of the House prosecution panel over possible violations of restrictions on publicly discussing the merits of Vice President Sara Duterte's case.

Presiding officer Francis "Chiz" Escudero disclosed the action before adjourning the trial, nearly three weeks after the court gave all covered parties a clean slate and warned that future violations of Rule 18 would be dealt with under a two-strike system.
