Manila, Aug. 20 -- The Iloilo Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) remains under a heightened state of operational readiness in anticipation of the impact of the enhanced southwest monsoon in the province.

PDRRMO chief Cornelio Salinas, in an executive brief submitted to Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. on Thursday, said that as of 9 p.m. Wednesday, floodwaters had largely subsided across the 47 affected barangays.

Eight municipalities - Alimodian, Leganes, Leon, Pototan, San Miguel, Barotac Nuevo, Zarraga, and New Lucena- reported rain-induced incidents, including flooding, landslides, and road slips.
