Manila, Aug. 6 -- The Iloilo City Health Office aims to vaccinate at least 95% of nearly 41,000 children ages 6 to 59 months during the measles-rubella supplemental immunization activity (MR-SIA) and Vitamin A supplementation campaign that begins Aug. 10.

National Immunization Program Coordinator Mayette Gabanto said Thursday the city is targeting 95 percent of the Department of Health's projected 40,973 eligible children.

To maximize turnout, the city will use fixed vaccination sites instead of house-to-house visits.

"House-to-house vaccination is discouraged, so we have temporary fixed posts. Our barangay health workers have been instructed to gather the target population in designated areas," Gabanto said during a press conference....
