Manila, Sept. 9 -- Iloilo City is a finalist in five categories of the 2026 Pearl Awards, strengthening its bid to position itself as a destination for tourism and local and international events.

The awards, given by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) and the Department of Tourism, recognize local government units for achievements and innovations in tourism.

The city was named a finalist in the highly urbanized city category for Best Tourism Souvenirs (Non-Food), Best Tourism Event (Cultural Festival), Best Event Hosting (Local), Best Event Hosting (International) and Best Tourism Promotions (Brochure).
