Ilocos Norte town gives P25-M agri aid to 500 farmers
CURRIMAO, June 9 -- Registered farmers in this town continue to receive agricultural inputs from the municipal government, along with interventions from the Department of Agriculture and the Philippine Rice Research Institute, to ease the rising cost of living.
Municipal Agriculturist Erickson Biag told the Philippine News Agency on Tuesday that PHP25 million from the municipality's share of tobacco excise tax has been used to provide timely assistance this planting season.
"We continue to prioritize the agriculture sector because when our farmers thrive, Currimao prospers," Biag said following the distribution of hybrid and inbred rice seeds, soil conditioners, and fertilizers to more than 500 farmer beneficiaries.
