BACARRA, June 22 -- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has recognized the Cabulalaan River in this town for its improved water quality, effective solid waste management, and sustainable environmental programs, citing the strong collaboration between the local government and community stakeholders.

The river has been selected as the region's entry to the DENR's Recognizing Individuals/Institutions towards Vibrant and Enhanced Rivers (RIVERs) for Life Awards, a program that honors communities and environment officials for effectively implementing environmental laws and river conservation initiatives.
