CURRIMAO, July 22 -- The local government unit (LGU) of Currimao has intensified enforcement of its No-Burning Ordinance, reinforcing efforts to protect public health, reduce air pollution, and promote environmentally sustainable waste management practices.

Engineer Erickson Biag, Currimao's municipal environment and natural resources office (MENRO) designate, told the Philippine News Agency on Wednesday that the ordinance bans open burning of garbage, waste, leaves, plastics, and combustibles, which can release pollutants and pose health risks.
