BANNA, July 15 -- The local government unit of Banna, Ilocos Norte has reminded residents, business owners, and visitors here to comply with a municipal ordinance prohibiting the use of single-use plastic bags, plastic cellophane, sand bags, and polystyrene (styrofoam) food and beverage containers.

Banna Mayor Mary Chrislyn Abadilla said Wednesday the ban forms part of the municipal government's efforts to reduce waste, protect the environment, and promote sustainable practices within the municipality.
