MIDSAYAP, July 17 -- Police authorities have condemned Thursday afternoon's fatal shooting of a councilor of the Kadayangan, Special Geographic Area - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (SGA-BARMM), launching a manhunt for the perpetrators.

In a statement Friday, Lt. Col. Rey Salgado, head of the Midsayap Municipal Police, said the attack against Kadayangan Councilor Nasser A. Dalandang occurred at about 3 p.m. along the national highway in Barangay Salunayan of this town.

According to an initial police report, Dalandang was parked in his pickup beside the national highway in Barangay Salunayan, waiting for his wife, who went to buy medicine, when he was attacked.
