House prosecution unfazed by possible VP Sara trial attendance
Manila, July 13 -- The House prosecution on Monday said it is unfazed by the prospect of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte attending the Senate impeachment trial, saying her presence would neither change its strategy nor intimidate prosecutors.
The statement came amid speculation that the Vice President may personally attend the impeachment proceedings after her camp hinted at the possibility.
In a press briefing at the Senate, former Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, spokesperson and adviser to the House prosecution, said the panel has long prepared for the evidentiary phase of the trial and would proceed as planned regardless of who is present in the courtroom.
