Manila, July 15 -- The House prosecution panel on Wednesday said there is no evidence that supports claims of a plot to kill Vice President Sara Z. Duterte, disputing the alleged "Operation Romanov" that the defense has invoked to justify Duterte's controversial remarks against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In a press briefing at the Senate, lawyer Benjamin "Jay" Tolosa Jr., legal spokesperson and counsel for the House prosecutors, said no evidence has been presented to support the alleged plot, citing the testimony of a prosecution witness and findings of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
