House prosecution drafting law to police confidential, intel funds use
Manila, Sept. 3 -- House of Representatives prosecutors are developing legislation that would turn existing audit guidelines on confidential and intelligence funds into statutory requirements, with proposed safeguards covering safe houses, aliases, disbursing officers, and possible penalties.
House prosecutor, Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, said on Thursday that members of the prosecution panel were drawing legislative lessons from the evidence presented during Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment trial.
"Pinag-aaralan din po ng ilang mga miyembro ng panel iyong pag-file ng (Some members of the panel are studying the filing of a) Confidential and Intelligence Fund Integrity bill," Ridon said at a House press conference.
