Manila, April 9 -- A total of 431,000 members and pensioners have so far qualified for the Government Service Insurance System's (GSIS) Balik Ginhawa refund program, with PHP6.2 billion already released as of April 8 this year.

The state pension fund on Thursday said the rollout marks the start of crediting refunds to qualified beneficiaries, with proceeds expected to be received within three working days upon approval of applications submitted through the GSIS Touch app.

GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said the initiative was intended to provide immediate financial relief to members and pensioners.
