Manila, Sept. 28 -- Nearly PHP20 billion returned to members and a near-complete shift to digital services were among the gains highlighted by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in a news release on Monday following an Asian public service recognition given to its chief.

Through the Balik Ginhawa program, GSIS said close to PHP20 billion had been returned to more than 700,000 members as of Sept. 22, covering about 1.6 million loan contracts.

The pension fund has also brought most transactions online, with 99.6 percent of its services already digitalized and GSIS Touch surpassing two million registered users.
