Manila, June 15 -- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday said the number of deaths being verified from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that rocked Maasim, Sarangani last June 8 has now climbed to 65.

In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said the death toll is broken down into: eight deaths for Region 11 (Davao Region) and 57 for Region 12 (Soccsksargen). Reported injured persons were placed at 1,447 and missing persons at 36.

One was reported injured and 78 others still undergoing confirmation in Region 11, and 1,367 in Region 12.

Likewise, the 36 missing persons still undergoing validation include 17 for Region 12 and 19 for Region 11.
