Manila, March 9 -- The government of Japan has turned over 13 generators with trailers to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to help enhance the country's maritime law enforcement capabilities.

In a news release on Monday, the Japanese Embassy said the equipment was formally handed over by Japanese Minister for Economic Affairs Yokota Naobumi and was provided through Japan's official development assistance (ODA) program.

"This handover is a concrete demonstration of the strong and enduring partnership between Japan and the Philippines, aimed at ensuring the sustainable enhancement of maritime law enforcement capabilities," Yokota said in his speech.
