Foreign selling pulls down PSEi, peso weakens
Manila, June 22 -- The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended lower on Monday amid foreign selling across sectors, while the local currency lost ground against the greenback.
The PSEi shed 1.63 percent to 6,035.02 while All Shares declined 1.17 percent to 3,341.08.
Except for Holding Firms which rose by 0.57 percent, all sectoral gauges slipped, with Services recording the biggest decline of 3.91 percent.
"The PSEi ended lower at 6,035.02, down by -1.64%. The local bourse ended lower amid broad-based foreign selling across sectors," Regina Capital Development Corp. head of sales Luis Limlingan said.
The stock market ended with 74 gainers, 116 decliners, and 50 unchanged.
