Manila, April 24 -- A food fair here gives visitors a taste of Cordillera's iconic dishes, tells stories of the region's people and helps preserve the local culture.

"We recognize the Mangan Taku (let's eat) food fair as a cultural event that brings our communities together, highlighting the richness of our Cordillera heritage through food," Department of Tourism in the Cordillera Administrative Region (DOT-CAR) Director Jovi Ganongan said Friday.

She said the event, slated April 23 to 27, is made even more meaningful as it coincides with the observance of Filipino Food Month, which underscores the importance of promoting, preserving and celebrating Filipino culinary traditions.
