Manila, Sept. 11 -- Davao Region's inflation rate for the bottom 30 percent income households increased to 12.1 percent in August from 11.6 percent in July this year, the Philippine Statistics Authority-11 (PSA-11) reported Friday.

In its bulletin, PSA-11 said the region's inflation was lower in August last year at -2.5 percent.

"The uptrend in the region's overall inflation in August 2026 was primarily due to the faster year-on-year growth rate in the index of Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages, at 13.8 percent from 13.1 percent," the agency said in its bulletin.

In addition, PSA-11 said higher annual rates were noted in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month: alcoholic beverages and tobacco, at 7.1 percent from ...
