Flexible clothing policy issued to protect learners from dengue
LA TRINIDAD, July 27 -- The local government unit has issued an order exempting learners here from wearing shorts and skirts at school as a preventive measure against mosquito-borne illnesses.
Mayor Roderick Awingan said exposed legs and arms make children vulnerable to insect bites that may pose a health risk.
"No student shall be barred from entering school premises, attending classes, or taking exams due to non-wearing of standard uniforms, provided their attire remains clean, neat, and appropriate for educational settings," Awingan said.
A total of 95 dengue cases were recorded from January to July, indicating an active presence of the dengue-causing mosquito, he said.
