Manila, April 1 -- Government officials on Holy Wednesday called on Filipinos to embrace compassion, unity and reflection amid the observation of Holy Week.
Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. urged the public to extend support to vulnerable members of their communities during the Lenten season.
"In this holy season, let us stand in solidarity with those who are struggling, as we extend a helping hand to others in need. May our words and actions reflect not only our faith in God, but also our shared resolve to uplift one another as followers of Christ," he said in a statement.
