Manila, April 16 -- Most parts of the country will experience fair weather and localized thunderstorms on Thursday, the weather bureau said.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Loriedin Galicia said the prevailing ridge of a high-pressure area causes fair weather, with only isolated rain showers expected.

"Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail. Localized thunderstorms are possible, especially in the Visayas and Mindanao," she said.

Typhoon Sinlaku has a slim chance of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It is also unlikely to affect any part of the country, Galicia added.
