Manila, April 16 -- Newly retired National Security Adviser (NSA) Eduardo Ano played a key role in the success of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) campaign against the remaining New People's Army (NPA) insurgents in the country.

"Throughout his distinguished career, Secretary Ano exemplified integrity, courage, and a firm commitment to the whole-of-nation approach-strengthening interagency cooperation, empowering local communities, and advancing inclusive governance to address the root causes of insurgency," NTF-ELCAC executive director Undersecretary Ernesto Torres Jr. said in a statement late Wednesday night.
