Escudero seeks FDA revamp under product regulation bill
Manila, July 15 -- Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero has filed a bill seeking to restructure the country's product regulatory system by transferring some functions of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to agencies with mandates more closely aligned to the products they oversee.
Senate Bill No. 2310, or the proposed Product Regulatory System Reform Act, seeks to adopt a science-based and risk-informed regulatory framework by redistributing oversight responsibilities among government agencies according to product type and risk profile.
