Manila, April 25 -- The southbound lane of the EDSA-Ortigas flyover in Mandaluyong City is now open to the public as of posting time, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced Saturday.
The DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) said motorists are now allowed to pass the structure after an assessment.
"Based on the assessment conducted by PDD (Planning and Design Department) Structural Engineer and District Representatives, the southbound lane of the Ortigas flyover has been cleared and is now passable to traffic," it added.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the agency to conduct a safety check to ensure that the road is safe for travel after a public utility bus caught fire on Friday.
