ED Council clears LRT-1 common station, AI, energy projects
Manila, July 7 -- The Economy and Development (ED) Council, chaired by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., has approved the variation order for the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) South Extension Project, paving the way for the completion of the country's largest rail interchange.
The approval, made during the council's 10th meeting Tuesday, will support the completion of the Common Station, which will connect LRT-1, Metro Rail Transit (MRT)-3 and MRT-7 and eventually integrate with the Metro Manila Subway.
Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said the project would have a significant impact on commuters and urban mobility.
