Manila, Feb. 24 -- As the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its High Contracting Parties marked the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC), Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III on Tuesday said the accord continues to affirm the value of dialogue, mutual respect, and peaceful cooperation in a changing global landscape.
TAC is the landmark 1976 accord that laid the foundation for peaceful relations, mutual respect and stability in the Southeast Asian region.
The Philippines concurrently serves as ASEAN Chair and President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) for 2026.
