DSWD vows uninterrupted aid amid 'habagat' rains, cyclones
Manila, Aug. 19 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday assured the public of its full readiness to support local government units (LGUs) as Tropical Depression Neneng slightly intensifies while moving northwestward over the sea of Batanes.
While no tropical cyclone wind signals are currently in effect, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that the enhanced southwest monsoon or "habagat" will bring strong to gale-force wind gusts over most of Luzon, the Visayas, Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) and Region 11 (Davao Region) until Thursday.
